Περιγραφή Μαθήματος
This is a course for secondary schools students with the aim to enhance their digital and media literacy skills and become responsible consumers/creators of information. Critical thinking and cross-checking of sources is an indinspensable part of the digital era in order to promote social justice, human rights, and freedom of expression in a democratic, globally-connected society. CommuniTIES project aims to bring together secondary school students from the Balkans region to interact, collaborate, learn how to critically consume media and create new knowledge.
Objectives
- Raise awareness of the necessity of media literacy and critical thinking to protect democratic values
- Combat disinformation and fake news and develop digital skills of students and instructors in participating countries
- Develop strategies, skills, and attitudes to discern the quality of information
- Familiarize educational communities with collaborative online learning environments
- Develop trainees’ multi-literacy skills (digital, tech, traditional, visual)
- Teach beneficiaries to recognize the importance of seeking quality information in the digital age and responsibly create their own information
- Practice Netiquette principles and combat hate speech
- Encourage the use of open resources and tools to content development
- Strengthen ties between educators and students in the participating countries
- Strengthen English language skills of participants
