The discussion will address and compare the pros and cons of extracting diachronic linguistic data from literary texts: prose – verse, original – translated, and from non-literary materials: charters, other legal documents, letters. In addition to segmental reconstruction, these evidential bases will be discussed as they relate to speech prosody, morphosyntax, and word-formation.
A preliminary outline of the discussion will be available on July 6 10am  Athens time
